Who I Am

Educator. Yogi. Nerd. Creative.

Currently the Director of Teachers’ College and Development for YYoga, I manage a department of educational offerings that spans yoga and fitness. I conceived, structured and created YYoga’s 200-hour teacher training and mentorship program as well as curated the 300-hour and continuing education offerings. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Instructional Systems and Technology so that I can enable others to bring their educational dreams to fruition.

I help people reach their potential. In addition to logging over 3000 hours in the classroom as a yoga teacher trainer, I have taught at the Tisch School of the Arts (MFA), Columbia University (MFA), the Public Theatre Shakespeare Lab, the University of San Francisco, and the Stella Adler Conservatory (NYC). I “train the trainer” and help my faculty hone their personal facilitation skills.

I get the business of yoga. I have been a Studio Director (YYoga, Vancouver), a Teacher Manager (Yoga Works in New York City as well as Semperviva in Vancouver) and sales specialist for MINDBODY Online.

I create. In addition to my own video and word blogs, I contribute regularly to Yoga International, Huffington Post and the blog at Half Moon. My first book Wit and Wisdom from the Yoga Mat was published in 2016. I create online curriculum to help others fuel their own passion and potential.

Random creative stuff: my artistic background has inspired a deep appreciation for the healing power of integrating breath, movement, feeling, and space. I earned my BA from Columbia University (Magna Cum Laude/ Phi Beta Kappa) and MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theatre. I’ve gigged on television (soaps!) and film as well as tromped the black box theatres of New York City. Musically, I produced and performed on two cd’s for YYoga (Listen to Understand, volumes 1 & 2) with proceeds benefiting the Vancouver Children’s Hospital. I now sing opera for fun and to get my ya ya’s out.
