“You need to calm down and get out of the head. Go do some yoga!”
After receiving this sage advice in 1998, I took my first class and fell in love. Finally, a safe space in which to feel, move, and breathe! Immediately enamoured, I earned 500-hour level certifications from both ISHTA and Yoga Works and did trainings and workshops in many styles (restorative, yin, Anusara, therapeutics). The practice has remained my steadfast friend, providing a continual invitation to inquire, love, and evolve.
“Very simply, I practice and teach yoga because I always leave class better than when I began. Every time.”
Real life philosophy meets juicy feeling meets incisive alignment.
Come breathe, move, and feel. Better.
Both a nerdy academic and creative artist, I love to teach and exuberantly share my knowledge in an environment that is rigorous, supportive, hilarious, and authentic. I strive to “walk the talk,” fail with abandon, and bring my best self forward. Through kick ass and creative learning experiences, I support students’ growth and self-actualization so that they can joyfully and effectively share their passion and knowledge with others. I work with passionate and nerdy students who know how to laugh while striving to achieve their personal best. I empower people to pursue their passion and self-actualization through fun, thought-provoking educational experiences so that we can collectively evolve global consciousness.

Who I Am
I am the Director of Teachers’ College and Development YYoga. In addition to chairing the College, I conceived, structured and created YYoga’s 200-hour teacher training, curated the 300-hour, and manage our mentorship and continuing education programs. Not only a passionate yoga trainer, I “train the teacher trainers” and have helped develop a world-class faculty passionate about presenting the latest content through progressive teaching methodologies.
I’ve always been passionate about teacher education and am currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Instructional Systems and Technology. Previously a teacher trainer for Yoga Works in New York City, I have also been richly immersed in the business aspects of the yoga world during my work as the Studio Director for YYoga’s Yaletown, Teacher Manager for Be Yoga and Yoga Works in New York City, Teacher Manager for Semperviva in Vancouver, and sales specialist for MINDBODY Online.
My artistic background has inspired a deep appreciation for the healing power of human integration: uniting breath, movement, feeling, and space.
A bit of a modern Renaissance woman, I earned my BA from Columbia University (Magna Cum Laude/ Phi Beta Kappa) and MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theatre. I’ve gigged on television as well as tromped the black box theatres of New York City.
Always an educator, I taught at the Tisch School of the Arts (MFA), Columbia University (MFA), the Public Theatre Shakespeare Lab, the University of San Francisco, and the Stella Adler Conservatory, as well as conservatories in Vancouver. I’ve written for the History Channel, Fathom Knowledge Networks, Plank Magazine, the New York and Vancouver Fringe Festivals, Elephant Journal, Huffington Post, and I blog regularly. Passionate about the intersection of yoga philosophy with the real world playground, my current writing project is called, “Yogi’s Guide to Dating,” and details my spiritual adventures in the world of dating.
Musically, I produced and performed on two cd’s for YYoga (Listen to Understand, volumes 1 & 2) with proceeds benefiting the Vancouver Children’s Hospital. My current passion is singing opera.
